Meaning
"〜する機会を利用して"
「何かを行う機会を利用して、他のこともする」と言う時に使う表現。

"make use of the opportunity of taking action X to do Y."
Used when doing something else in addition to what was originally intended.

Points

Opportunity: "〜ついでに" is used when you take advantage of one action to do something else at the same time, usually because it’s convenient.
