Explanation：い adjectives

There are two types of adjectives in Japanese. One type is called “いadjectives” and the other type is “なadjectives”.　

い-adjectives are a category of adjectives that end with the syllable い (i) and are used to describe the qualities or states of nouns. They can conjugate to express different tenses and forms.

Note
「ゆうめい」 and 「きれい」has the final letter 「い」 but these are なadjective.

Sample sentenes

1. present

今日きょうは　暑あついですね。
It’s hot today.

富士山ふじさんは　高たかいです。
Mt. Fuji is high.

日本料理にほんりょうりは　おいしいです。
Japanese cuisine is delicious.

私わたしの国くには　とても　寒さむいです。
It’s very cold in my country.

日本語にほんごは　おもしろいです。
Japanese is interesting.

このケーキは　甘あまいです。
This cake is sweet.

日本語にほんごは　難むずかしいです。
Japanese is difficult.

2. present negative

この本ほんは　おもしろくないです。
This book is not interesting.

この料理りょうりは　辛からくないです。
This cuisine is not spicy.

今いまひとりで　住すんでいますが、寂さびしくないですよ。
I live alone now but I’m not lonely.

私の国くには　あまり　大おおきくないです。
I am not sleepy now because I over slept.

たくさん　寝ねたから、今いまは　眠ねむくないです。
I am not sleepy now because I over slept.

3. past affirmative

大学生活だいがくせいかつは　とても　楽たのしかったです。
My college life was very fun.

昨日きのう見みた　映画えいがは　とても　おもしろかったです。
The movie I watched yesterday was very interesting.

今日きょうの　テストは　難むずかしかったです。
Today’s test was difficult.

昨日きのう行いった　レストランには　おいしい　料理りょうりが　たくさん　ありました。
The restaurant I went to yesterday had a lot of delicious food.

4. past negative

昨日きのう読よんだ　本ほんは　あまり　おもしろくなかったです。
The book I read yesterday was not very interesting.

昨日きのう行いった　デパートは　日曜日にちようびなのに、人ひとが　少すくなかったです。
The department store I went to yesterday had a few people despite being Sunday.
