Explanation：〜まい

Meaning
① "〜しないつもりだ / 絶対〜しない：I won't"
It expresses a strong negative intention. Therefore, the subject is in the first person.

② "〜しないだろう：probably not"
It expresses the speaker's conjecture. It is an old-fashioned and literary expression. Since it is a conjecture, the third person can also be used as the subject.

2. 〜しないだろう

彼の言うことなんて、誰も信じまい。
No one will believe what he says.

僕はUFOを見たことがあるが、きっと誰も信じまい。
I've seen a UFO, but surely no one will believe me.

私の気持ちなんて、トムさんにはわかるまい。
Tom will never understand my feelings.

この時間だと、終電には間に合うまい。
At this time, we won't make it in time for the last train.
